Puzzlement

So.... I'm puzzled.

A couple of months ago the 13 year old who lives in my house came home with some jeans. And they were TIGHT. And I asked if they were comfortable, and she assured me they were, so I left it alone. And a few weeks ago, I was in a part of town for work I don't usually frequent and my tights ripped so on my way back to the office I stopped in the Family Dollar to grab a new pair. I spent $40. It take some work to spend $40 at the Family Dollar. I bought a pair of those tight janky jeans for myself for $12.50, a gray hoodie printed with pink flowers, tights (bo-ring), fluffy soft pj pants for the 13 year old, a pitcher for the new grape koolaide the whole family is obsessed with.... and maybe a couple other things? OH - a new bathmat for DJ Benny Smith BUT THE POINT IS those stupid tight janky jeans? ARE comfortable! They're basically everything the Pajama Jeans promised to be. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER.

Fake zipper and pockets. And I only got self conscious about them when I saw a woman eyeing me in confusion whilst I wrestled myself in them at the gym this morning. YES THEY'RE FAKE.

nothing will go in this pocket

this is a pretend zipper

Back pockets are real however.

Anyway!

I went to a Christmas chorus concert put on by the 13 year old's class, and it was lovely. Traditional songs (I was there for two hours, true story) including Carol of the Bells, holiday medley, I'm Gettin' Nuttin' for Christmas (that child in that song deserves nothing; ants in the sugar bowl INDEED. WE ALL LOSE.) And everyone around me had to deal with my whispered snarky comments, until then they sang this song Pentatonix-style... and it was super confusing. I thought maybe I just was mis-hearing the lyrics, so I asked the 13 year old to tell them to me last night... and still... what the hell?

Can someone tell me what this song is about? Because it sounds rather grim:

I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the
I was following the, I was following the, I was following the, I was following the
I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied 'round their throats
To keep their little heads from falling in the snow, and I turned 'round and there you go
And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime
I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied 'round their throats
To keep their little heads from falling in the snow, and I turned 'round and there you go
And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime
I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied 'round their throats
To keep their little heads from falling in the snow, and I turned 'round and there you go
And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red as strawberries in summertime

Erm. Wut.

WHAT IS THIS SONG ABOUT. And why is it a Christmas song? This is Halloween-type stuff.

Oh jeez. I sound like my father complaining about the Choreography number in "White Christmas."

But seriously if someone has some info on that song I'd appreciate it.

Over and out.
