His name is actually Dale

So, even though the Roomstress and I are technically not roommates anymore, there's nothing that says we can't have a little fun and add to our pile of adventures. We had taken a trip to Asheville years ago, and hearing that there was to be a Chihuly (his name is Dale) art installation at the Biltmore House and made a point to re-visit the city together and see the exhibit.

Then life happened. And we didn't go.

Until the VERY. LAST. DAY. It was up. GAME ON!!!

We knew it would be crowded as it was the very last day of the exhibit, but when we had to sit in traffic for an hour and a half outside the estate, we were glad we'd made an early start. As we were planning on staying in the Village, we headed to our hotel and checked in. Yea, business conducted, let fun begin!

First, Snacks.
four things i love: regina, wine, lemon water and pickles

Second, shenanigans.

we just ate at that dog's restaurant. true story.

Third, make new friends!

this guy made a smart remark that made us laugh, and then i noticed his shirt. that logo is for ocean isle fish club.

Fourth, wine tasting! No photos of that, but I may or may not have purchased a lot of wine. Which meant we had to run it all back to the room and R put her feet up for a second while I had a sniff test of the hotel soaps from your local apothecary.

free shower cap too

Next, and at long last, we get on the bus and......

hooray!!!

It was so beautiful it made me cry a little.

this was my favorite in the daylight

koi in the pond. when r pointed out that she liked koi, i pointed out that i had one tattooed on my butt.

i watched this girl's daddy fish her out of the chihuly three times. i was convinced we were going to witness the breakage of priceless glass.

arty shot of me taking a picture of r taking a picture

Then, it was time for more snacks, and then we did it all again, but this time in the dark!

breathtaking

this was my favorite at night

The next day, R drove us back to Knoxville, which allowed me to finish:

a christmas present for a certain someone! sh! don't tell!

This has nothing to do with our trip, or my buddy Dale, but I want to know...

who looks at this and thinks, "ooh career move!"?

That's all I got for this week! But there is talk.......

maybe another adventure in the spring!
